Description Filipe Brandenburger 2020-12-10 20:03:37 UTC
I'd like to request builds of mkosi for EPEL 8 (and EPEL 7 if possible.)

I'd be willing to help build and maintain it, if you add me to the list of members in the mkosi Pagure.

(Note: I used product "Fedora" and not "Fedora EPEL" because the "mkosi" component is not available there... How can we add it there?)

Thanks!
Filipe

zbyszek@spora ~/fedora/mkosi (git)-[master] % fedpkg request-branch epel7
https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/31535
zbyszek@spora ~/fedora/mkosi (git)-[master] % fedpkg request-branch epel8

I built v9 today. It should be straightforward enough to do the epel builds once
the branch requests go through. I added you to the owner list.

It will be something of an uphill battle. I pushed some commits to allow the package to build,
but various programs in epel are too old:
btrfs device scan: invalid option -- 'u'
sfdisk: unrecognized option '--color=never'

I'm passing the baton to you ;)

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 34 development cycle.
Changing version to 34.

I tried this out today, and with https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/mkosi/pull-request/1 applied mkosi seems to install and work fine on CentOS Stream 8.

Comment 5 Davide Cavalca 2022-01-19 21:04:06 UTC
mkosi has been in EPEL 8 and EPEL 9 for a while, I think this can be closed.
