Description Rudnei Bertol Jr. 2020-12-16 14:11:50 UTC
Description of problem:

Once we are doing an action and we have more than 50 hosts that we would like to apply this action, we are not able to select all hosts, we have to do the action 50 per time.

We would like to do the bulk action on all hosts that match with the respected inventory filter.

Should fall under inventory component , changing component

Comment 2 Karel Hala 2020-12-17 15:32:57 UTC
The action for all filtered items is a bit tricky as things can come and go while performing such action (new system registered/removed) or users might do the bulk action accidentally.

Another problem with this is that including all IDs can break the request altogether as there is limitation on GET request, this would have to be sent either as POST with all host IDs or specific endpoint (which might actually be a bit more cleaner) that consumes current filter and does the heavy lifting of fetching data and perfoming requested action.

Comment 5 Christian Marineau 2022-10-04 20:50:08 UTC
Thank you for your interest in Insights. We have evaluated this request, and while we recognize that it is a valid request, we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. This is due to other priorities for the product, and not a reflection on the request itself. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this, please do not reopen. Instead, feel free to contact Christian Marineau. Thank you.
