Description momran 2020-12-23 16:52:14 UTC
Description of problem:

Content view with Include errata and Package filters is created on Satellite 6.6 Server, and version 1.0 of the content view is published. When a similar content view is created with the same filters on a Satellite 6.7 server, and version 1.0 of this content view is published, it is observed that 'rpm Packages' count, 'Module Streams' count and 'Errata' count for version 1.0 of both content views differ.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Red Hat Satellite 6.7

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Enable and sync the affected repository on a Red Hat Satellite 6.7 test server.

2. Create a content view on the Satelite 6.7 test server, configure the content view with the affected repository, then add include errata and include rpm filters to the content view.

3. Publish a new version (version 1.0) of the content view.

4. Check the following under verison 1.0 of the content view:
     - rpm Packages count
     - Module Streams count
     - Errata count
These can be checked under the 'rpm Packages', 'Module Streams' and 'Errata' tabs of verison 1.0 of the content view

5. Repeat steps (1-4) on a Red Hat Satellite 6.6 test server. Configure the content view with the same affected repository and apply the exact same filters as on the test Satellite 6.7 server.

6. Observe the difference in the 'rpm Packages' count, 'Module Streams' count and 'Errata' count on both servers.

Actual results:
The 'rpm Packages' count, 'Module Streams' count and 'Errata' count on the Red Hat Satellite 6.7 test server is significantly less than the count on the Red Hat Satellite 6.6 test server.

Expected results:
The 'rpm Packages' count, 'Module Streams' count and 'Errata' count on the Red Hat Satellite 6.7 server is the same as the Red Hat Satellite 6.6 server.

Can't be this a dup of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1917076 ?

Could you try:

wget https://patch-diff.githubusercontent.com/raw/pulp/pulp_rpm/pull/1918.patch -O /tmp/1918.patch
wget https://patch-diff.githubusercontent.com/raw/pulp/pulp_rpm/pull/1926.patch -O /tmp/1926.patch
cd /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/
cat /tmp/1918.patch /tmp/1926.patch | patch -p1
for i in pulp_resource_manager pulp_workers pulp_celerybeat; do service $i restart; done

and re-publish the CV?

1910733 was created to track documentation related this BZ's resolution. At this time there is no discernible documentation impact, so that BZ has been closed until/unless that changes.

Comment 16 Brad Buckingham 2023-01-04 22:48:23 UTC
Upon review of our valid but aging backlog the Satellite Team has concluded that this Bugzilla does not meet the criteria for a resolution in the near term, and are planning to close in a month. This message may be a repeat of a previous update and the bug is again being considered to be closed. If you have any concerns about this, please contact your Red Hat Account team. Thank you.

Comment 17 Brad Buckingham 2023-02-01 19:03:16 UTC
Thank you for your interest in Red Hat Satellite. We have evaluated this request, and while we recognize that it is a valid request, we do not expect this to be implemented in the product in the foreseeable future. This is due to other priorities for the product, and not a reflection on the request itself. We are therefore closing this out as WONTFIX. If you have any concerns about this feel free to contact your Red Hat Account Team. Thank you.
