.Ceph Object Gateway can now be configured to direct its Ops Log to an ordinary Unix file. With this release, Ceph Object Gateway can be configured to direct its Ops Log to an ordinary Unix file, as a file-based log is simpler to work with in some sites, when compared to a Unix domain socket. The content of the log file is identical to what would be sent to the Ops Log socket in the default configuration.

Description Steve Baldwin 2020-12-23 20:12:50 UTC
Description of problem:
This RFE is to have a log file (preferably a configurable filepath) that persist rgw's opslog to a file so it could be sent to a log aggregrator like graylog as other Ceph components can do.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable)
Red Hat Ceph Storage 4.1

Actual results:
No specific log file for opslogs that can be exported to an external log aggregator like graylog.

Expected results:
Have a configurable logfile that captures opslogs so it can be easily exported to a log aggregator (graylog).
