NTP config failed

Comment 2 Gianluca Cecchi 2021-01-29 13:36:22 UTC
I can reproduce it using ovirt-node-ng-installer-4.4.4-2020122111.el8.iso so I think an upstream clone bug could be created.

I can't reproduce this bug, did I miss some additional steps?

1. Installation RHVH via anaconda GUI.
2. Configure networking
3. Set 'timezone Asia/Shanghai --utc --ntpservers=clock02.util.phx2.redhat.com
4. Finish the installation without crash.

Hi Cshao,

I was able to reproduce yesterday (see the screenshot) but suddenly now today, It is working fine. Strange!
Let me ask in case also if this is still reproducible. I will ask for video.

Ulhas , Gianluca, can you still reproduce this?

Comment 7 Gianluca Cecchi 2021-04-09 08:37:45 UTC
Hi, initially using the new image RHVH-4.4-20210202.0-RHVH-x86_64-dvd1.iso I wasn't able to reproduce the error. But in a following installation I got the problem again, also with that iso.
I was not able to play with it deeply, but one possible scenario to reproduce it could be during installation going into time/date config and configure only the timezone and then exiting to the main menu. Then entering again in time/date option and try to set ntp and as soon as you try to type an hostname you get the problem.

Moving to anaconda team for further investigations.

Comment 11 Jan Stodola 2021-04-13 18:02:44 UTC
Hello,
can you please provide /tmp/anaconda-tb* from the installation environment?

This is most likely the same problem as reported in bug 1938168, but I would like to double check before closing this bug as a duplicate.
Bug 1938168 will be fixed in RHEL-8.4.
