Description Daniel Mach 2021-01-31 15:38:52 UTC
1. Please describe the problem:
USB soundcards incl. the integrated microphone in webcam stopped working.

2. What is the Version-Release number of the kernel:
kernel-5.11.0-0.rc5.20210127git2ab38c17aac1.136.fc34.x86_64
kernel-5.11.0-0.rc5.20210128git76c057c84d28.137.fc34.x86_64

3. Did it work previously in Fedora? If so, what kernel version did the issue
*first* appear? Old kernels are available for download at
   https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=8 :
Yes, it did work in Fedora: 5.11.0-0.rc4.129.fc34.x86_64 works fine
Probably broke in kernel-5.11.0-0.rc5.20210126git13391c60da33.135.fc34

4. Can you reproduce this issue? If so, please provide the steps to reproduce
   the issue below:
Boot any of the kernels listed in 2.
Click the 'speaker' icon next to the clock in Plasma desktop, the sound cards do not appear on the list.

5. Does this problem occur with the latest Rawhide kernel? To install the
Rawhide kernel, run ``sudo dnf install fedora-repos-rawhide`` followed by
   ``sudo dnf update --enablerepo=rawhide kernel``:
Yes.

6. Are you running any modules that not shipped with directly Fedora's kernel?:
No.

7. Please attach the kernel logs. You can get the complete kernel log
   for a boot with ``journalctl --no-hostname -k > dmesg.txt``. If the
issue occurred on a previous boot, use the journalctl ``-b`` flag.
I'll attach the log when I boot the broken kernel again.

The sound cards do not show up in pavucontrol either.

Comment 3 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2021-02-01 07:27:22 UTC
Proposed as a Blocker for 34-final by Fedora user dmach using the blocker tracking app because:

no sound because sound cards disappear

Comment 4 Daniel Mach 2021-02-04 06:41:27 UTC
kernel-5.11.0-0.rc6.141.fc34.x86_64 works fine
