Description Jose Luis Franco 2021-02-02 13:40:15 UTC
Description of problem:

One of the requirements to start with the upgrade run step, it is required to enable the right RHSM version:

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openstack_platform/16.1/html-single/framework_for_upgrades_13_to_16.1/index#locking-the-environment-to-a-red-hat-enterprise-linux-release

If this step is missed then several problems can occurr during the upgrade procedure.

For this reason, a validation being executed before starting with the undercloud and overcloud's upgrade that would verify if the right RHSM version is set would be very useful to avoid other upgrade issues.
