Description Pedro Sampaio 2021-02-15 20:30:52 UTC
A flaw was found in ImageMagick in coders/webp.c. An attacker who
submits a crafted file that is processed by ImageMagick could trigger
undefined behavior in the form of math division by zero. This would
most likely lead to an impact to application availability, but could
potentially cause other problems related to undefined behavior. This
flaw affects ImageMagick versions prior to 7.0.10-62.

Comment 3 Todd Cullum 2021-02-17 20:40:13 UTC
Flaw summary:

When image->ticks_per_second is set to 0 in WriteAnimatedWEBPImage() of ImageMagick/coders/webp.c, a division by zero could occur, causing an impact to application availability if an attacker is able to submit a crafted input image file to be processed by ImageMagick. This is because image->ticks_per_second is acquired from the image file. The patch addresses the issue by using the PerceptibleReciprocal() function instead of division.
