Description Chris Leech 2021-02-19 00:00:16 UTC
Description of problem:

The iscsi-initiator-utils package is no longer enabling services at install time, instead doing the correct thing and requesting system preset configurations for them.

There are a number of unit files that should be enabled for iSCSI to work properly.

I'm requesting the following unit files be enabled:

iscsid.socket - activate iscsid as needed for any iSCSI sessions
iscsiuio.socket - activate iscsiuio for bnx2i and qedi offload
iscsi.service - automatic login to configured targets
iscsi-onboot.service - special handling of initramfs sessions

The iscsi-initator-utils package has these additional unit files, that I'm mentioning for completness as not needing to be enabled by default:

  iscsid.service - socket activated
  iscsiuio.service - socket activated
iscsi-init.service - started as needed through a dependency in iscsid.service
  iscsi-shutdown.service - started through a dependency in iscsid.service

--- requested preset configuration ---

enable iscsi.service
enable iscsid.socket
enable iscsiuio.socket
enable iscsi-onboot.service

With the exception of iscsi-onboot.service, these are already enabled. See https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/fedora-release/blob/rawhide/f/90-default.preset#_78

I'll update the presets to include iscsi-onboot.service, but can you tell me whether you want this backported to F34 and/or F33 as well?

Thank you, a backport to F34 would be appreciated. F33 should be fine as is.

Stephen did this for F34 in 104487b425d97eac142a436ebbe7992adb11bfe7, i.e. fedora-release-34-0.14.
