Description Stephen Tweedie 2006-06-01 14:31:43 UTC
Description of problem:
On upgrading to the new 5.0.0-* autofs versions in rawhide, wildcard entries no
longer work.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
autofs-5.0.0_beta3-6
kernel-xen0-2.6.16-1.2232_FC6

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Setup a NIS auto.home map containing specific and wildcard entries
2. Reboot
3. Try to access a /home/ subdir from the wildcard

Actual results:
# ls /home/sct/
ls: /home/sct/: No such file or directory

Expected results:
autofs to mount the directory!

Additional info:
Sample "ypcat -k auto.home" output being used here:

orbit -soft orbit:/disk/home/orbit
* -soft sisko:/disk/home/&

The "orbit" map works; the "*" one does not. It has worked perfectly since
RHL-8 if not earlier.

I'm a bit suprised to hear this. I've tested this stuff quite a bit.

I'll check this and get back ASAP.

And even more suprised to find it completely broken.
Fixed (I believe) in autofs-5.0.0_beta4-1, on it's way this
afternoon (my time).

Yes, a local build of autofs-5.0.0_beta4-1 fixes this for me, thanks.
