Normal mouse pointer showing in screenshot whilst this is not acctually visible

Description of problem:

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot / startup fedora
2.
3.

Actual results:
Mouse pointer used to look as small arrow but now seems vertically extended set of horizontal stripes.

Bizarre thing is that if I make a screenshot the pointer shows up as the usual arrow (as in attached image in button add an attachment)

Expected results:

Additional info: $ uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 5.11.7-200.fc33.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Mar 17 18:55:20 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

FYI...

I have a number of virtual qemu/kvm machines running under my fedora33 host where I see the same issue, kubuntu20.10, fedora33

My virtual win10 installation does no exhibit this problem tough.

Comment 2 rfge 2021-03-20 22:57:21 UTC
Additional info...

I have another system running fc33, also recently updated but not showing this incorrect behavior:

$ uname -a
Linux sandbox.localdomain 5.11.7-200.fc33.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Mar 17 18:55:20 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Comment 3 rfge 2021-03-21 21:37:38 UTC
More additional info,

If I revert, during boot to the previous Linux localhost.localdomain 5.10.23-200.fc33.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Mar 11 22:18:30 UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

this issue seems to be fixed (cursors well formed but still a bit big in some situations though)
