Description Pedro Sampaio 2021-03-25 14:43:41 UTC
A document disclosure flaw was found in the Elasticsearch suggester and profile API when Document and Field Level Security are enabled. The suggester and profile API are normally disabled for an index when document level security is enabled on the index. Certain queries are able to enable the profiler and suggester which could lead to disclosing the existence of documents and fields the attacker should not be able to view.

Comment 1 Pedro Sampaio 2021-03-25 14:44:32 UTC
Created python-elasticsearch tracking bugs for this issue:

Affects: epel-all [bug 1943186]
Affects: fedora-all [bug 1943187]
Affects: openstack-rdo [bug 1943185]

Comment 2 juneau 2021-03-31 13:21:13 UTC
Marking Hosted Services / services-assisted-installer notaffected per BU:

"assisted-test-infra is our testing infrastructure. It has nothing to do with prod code."

Comment 4 Przemyslaw Roguski 2021-04-02 12:13:11 UTC
Statement:

In Elasticsearch, Document and Field Level Security is an enterprise only feature [1]. Hence the open source version is unaffected by this vulnerability.
