Description Rex Dieter 2021-04-27 16:50:55 UTC
Per upstream bug,
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422426#c24

"Primary selection will still not work between QT-Wayland and e.g. Chromium or Pidgin. In order to fix that kwin will need to translate between primary selection of Wayland and X11 - that's not yet done..."

Comment 1 Aleksandar Kostadinov 2021-04-30 08:31:17 UTC
Confirmed. xfce-terminal (yes, using that one still) and other windows too.

I have setup in clipboard settings to sync primary selection and clipboard to no avail.

Comment 2 Bernie Innocenti 2021-09-01 04:24:57 UTC
Upstream patch: https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/commit/6104dc50cfa4cfa6467029dfdad17c9848dc225c

Can we please backport it to 5.22.5? There are no more 5.22 dot releases before 5.23.0 (which is still several weeks away).

Comment 3 Rex Dieter 2021-09-01 05:54:30 UTC
I looked into backporting last week. Turns out there was a fair amount of code refactoring in 5.23 too that makes backporting difficult and impractical.

This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 34 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 34 on 2022-06-07.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
'version' of '34'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version'
to a later Fedora Linux version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora Linux 34 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version
prior to this bug being closed.

Comment 5 Bernie Innocenti 2022-05-13 06:47:56 UTC
This is fixed in current Fedora.
