Description Martin Kolman 2021-06-07 15:13:41 UTC
Created attachment 1789237 [details]
screenshot of RHEL 8.5 registered in SCA mode

After bug 1944558 has been fixed, Anaconda works correctly for Red Hat accounts in Simple Content Access mode, resulting in successful installation from the Red Hat CDN and correctly registered system.

Still, the screen that reports post-registration status has been created with classic entitlement workflow in mind and might be confusing for users with SCA-enabled accounts.

See the attached screenshot for an example how current RHEL 8.5 nightly looks like when registered using an SCA-enabled account.

The main issue is certainly the "No subscriptions are attached to the system". While this could be technically correct in SCA mode, it's needlessly confusing to the user.

Also there is no indication of SCA mode being used for the registration.

Suggested actions:
- drop the "No subscriptions are attached to the system" when running in SCA mode.
- change the top level line from "The system has been properly subscribed" to "System successfully registered in Simple Content Access mode"
- (optional) center the screen content horizontally if possible

We have too many other issues to handle in 8.5. Proposing to 8.6 instead.
