Description Kyle 2021-06-13 17:07:21 UTC
Description of problem:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/openvpn-auth-ldap doesn't list EPEL8 as a build target, could it be enabled?

Comment 1 Sean Callaway 2021-06-13 18:00:00 UTC
I, personally, don't have much interest in EL8, but if someone wanted to package for EPEL8, they'd be welcome to do so.

Perhaps, Orion has some interest?

Comment 2 Kyle 2021-06-13 19:50:51 UTC
Hmm. I tried it myself and it's frustrating with no obvious solution.

RHEL8 dropped gcc-objc, and there's no equivalent package EPEL, so it needs an external repo: https://cloudsmith.io/~csi/repos/gcc/packages/detail/rpm/gcc-objc/

And there's a few other packages that aren't updated for EL8, eg gnustep-base-devel and re2c.

Because of the external repo requirement I don't think it's trivially buildable in koji.

This can be closed, I guess. I'll file bugs against the dependencies and stick to copr.

I'm afraid I don't have any interest (run openvpn on pfSense these days). Building for EPEL8 would require someone producing a gcc-objc package for EPEL8.
