I suspect the traceback below resulted from me deciding that I'd quite like my pre-existing DOS partition to be mounted under the obvious (to me, anyway) /dos, which I could type in. Installer spent seemingly forever formatting a 7Gb partition, before taking a quick look at swap and bailing with the traceback below. So mounting doesn't create new parts of the tree? Should I be able to type in /randomdir as an option, rather than selecting from the pulldown? Toshiba Tecra 8100, since you ask. L.
