Description Frank Büttner 2006-07-01 08:21:10 UTC
Are there plains to update D-Bus to 0.62, so that Qt 4.2 will run with D-Bus
support on FC5? Or will D-Bus 0.62 only in FC6?

Comment 1 John (J5) Palmieri 2006-07-01 15:21:14 UTC
No, no plans on upgrading. You should be able to build the Qt4 bindings out of
tree.

Comment 2 Frank Büttner 2006-07-01 18:02:53 UTC
No not the bindings!! Qt 4.2. will have it's own D-Bus support. So no extra
bindings are needed. But it need 0.62.

Comment 3 John (J5) Palmieri 2006-07-01 18:59:43 UTC
From what I understand the Bindings are the Qt support. In any case 0.62 has
known crasher bugs when dealing with threaded apps (i.e. NetworkManager). While
these will be fixed in FC6 by that time d-bus will have split out the bindings
and it would require quite a bit of package changes that should not go into a
stable distribution. I'm going to have to say no with the note that fc-6 is
just around the courner. This is exactly why we have quick releases.

Comment 4 Frank Büttner 2006-07-01 19:10:10 UTC
when 0.62 or higher will be at FC6 it is total ok.
