Description Waldirio M Pinheiro 2021-06-23 08:54:59 UTC
Description of problem:
when creating a golden image or template, the entry on /etc/insights-client/machine-id should be removed, on this way, the insights registration process will be creating a new UUID. If the uuid still around, the new machine will be reporting to that uuid on cloud.redhat.com, as consequence, we can see multiple servers updating a single entry on cloud.redhat.com - inventory

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a template with the machine-id in place
2. clone this machine or deploy a new one based on the original machine
3. register to insights

Actual results:
both machines will be reporting to the same uuid

Expected results:
different machines with different uuids
