Comment 1 Jonathan Lebon 2021-06-28 14:34:19 UTC
Yes, we should fix this, but indeed it's mostly harmless.
Tracked upstream at https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-tracker/issues/664.

Comment 2 Micah Abbott 2021-06-30 13:28:23 UTC
Mistakenly moved to POST; this still needs additional triage.

Comment 10 Luca BRUNO 2021-09-21 16:22:45 UTC
The underlying issue is https://github.com/opensvc/multipath-tools/issues/15, a misalignment between socket and service unit conditions.
Additionally, Fedora and RHEL carry an additional patch for `ConditionPathExists=/etc/multipath.conf` which is not upstream. It will need to be fixed and backported separately.

Comment 11 Luca BRUNO 2021-09-27 09:54:25 UTC
Upstream fix at https://github.com/opensvc/multipath-tools/pull/16.

However the RPM is adding additional custom conditions to the service unit, so the socket unit will need to be fixed downstream too.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2008098 is the request to fix Fedora packaging, while https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2008101 is the ticket for RHEL 8 packages.

Comment 12 Nick Stielau 2022-01-20 17:10:06 UTC
Backport for RHCOS/OCP was requested last week: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2008101#c8

Comment 14 Micah Abbott 2022-03-09 22:13:54 UTC
This ends up being a tracker BZ for a fix that is being delivered via RHEL. I'm updating the summary accordingly and targeting this for 4.11.

I'll create clones tracking the inclusion of the fix all the way back to OCP/RHCOS 4.7.z

Comment 15 Timothée Ravier 2022-07-20 17:39:40 UTC
This one has been fixed in 8.6 and backported to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2054876. We should be able to verify that it is fixed in RHCOS now.

Comment 16 Timothée Ravier 2022-07-20 17:40:03 UTC
Backported to 8.4*

Comment 18 HuijingHei 2022-07-21 03:51:01 UTC
The fixed package `device-mapper-multipath-0.8.4-22.el8` was landed in RHCOS 411.86.202207150124-0 and was shipped as part of OCP 4.11.0-rc.4
