Description Eric Auger 2021-06-29 07:37:15 UTC
Since BZ961178 ("[aarch64] [kernel] Add support for pvpanic-pci"), the pvpanic-pci driver is compiled. Unfortunately it isn't loaded automatically when the guest is exposed with the pvpanic-pci device and for the use case to work, a manual modprobe is required. This BZ to add the auto-load modality using MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE macro in the driver (tentative).

"[PATCH v2] misc/pvpanic-pci: Allow automatic loading" is under discussion on the ML.

Hello Eric,

Do we plan to fix this bug in 9.0 Beta?
If the fix is planned, we need to set up the DTM.
After this, I will set up ITM.

thanks

ZhenYu

Comment 3 Eric Auger 2021-07-20 07:22:05 UTC
Hi Zhenyu, a fix was sent upstream and is waiting for review. I cannot guess when this will land upstream as it missed v5.14, so I cannot set any DTM atm. Thanks. Eric

Comment 4 Eric Auger 2021-09-09 12:31:35 UTC
The fix has landed upstream in 5.15

Comment 9 Zhenyu Zhang 2021-09-18 06:07:48 UTC
Since the fixed version kernel is not included in the latest compose, ITM is moved to 4.
