It is not reproducible at will, but it happens after a while using it. Maostly with repos that have a lot of files modified or untracked showing on the pane.
Also, the fact that I use it sometimes over a VPN might have some influence.
It takes a long time to initialize repos with many files to show in the status pane. It also takes forever if I switch to such a repo using the file menu when on some other repo (like doing Open Recent).
