Description Ashish Humbe 2021-07-07 12:39:48 UTC
Description of problem:

Multiple warnings added on the Parameters page while creating a new HostGroup on Satellite 6.10

When we try to set the Operating System version and Puppet Environment these multiple warnings are added on the Parameters page. Warning message:

Puppet ENC is being extracted to the foreman_puppet plugin and will be removed from core in 3.0

Also, we need to fix the Branding issue to reflect the correct Satellite version instead of v 3.0

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to create a new Host Group
2. Set Environment on the first page
3. Under the "Operating System" tab try to set Operating System version.
4. Now check the Parameters tab, which will have multiple warning messages listed.

Expected results:
There should be only one warning with proper satellite version instead of Foreman upstream version.

Connecting redmine issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/32493 from this bug

Comment 4 Ondřej Ezr 2021-07-23 09:16:02 UTC
Yes, this should be about removing the warning completely in branding.

Comment 5 Bryan Kearney 2021-07-23 12:05:46 UTC
Upstream bug assigned to oezr

Comment 6 Bryan Kearney 2021-07-23 12:05:49 UTC
Upstream bug assigned to oezr

Comment 7 Ondřej Ezr 2021-07-23 12:19:33 UTC
After a discussion with Marek, and search for an old mail conversation with Mike, we will rebrand, so I've fixed the multiple warnings issue and will open the branding PR

Comment 8 Bryan Kearney 2021-07-28 16:06:09 UTC
Moving this bug to POST for triage into Satellite since the upstream issue https://projects.theforeman.org/issues/32493 has been resolved.

Comment 9 addubey 2021-08-23 14:16:38 UTC
Verified.

Tested on: Satellite-6.10.0 Snap 14.0

Steps followed:

1. Try to create a new Host Group
2. Set Environment on the first page
3. Under the "Operating System" tab try to set Operating System version.
4. Now check the Parameters tab, which will have multiple warning messages listed.

Observation: "Puppet ENC is deprecated and will be removed in Satellite 7.0" message appears correctly mentioning correct satellite version.
