Validation service checks placement policy affinity type for RHV VMs and report a VM cannot be migrated.
Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA. Created attachment 1799837 [details] screen shot of RHV VM edit pop up Description of problem: ----------------------- RHV VMs could have one of the following placement policy affinity types: 1)migratable 2)user_migratable 3)pinned . The 'migratable' affinity type is not a valid policy affinity type and prevents Forklift migration. This type corresponds to "Allow manual and automatic migration" in VM's Host configuration in the RHV UI.As of MTV 2.1, when a VM with this affinity type is migrated, migration fails with this error: MappingRulesVerificationFailed: VM has placement policy affinity set to `migratable`. See attached screen shot of a RHV VM with affinity type set to migratable - Allow manual and automatic migration. It would be great if validation service could check placement policy affinity type for RHV VMs and report if a VM cannot be migrated.
