The lack of an EPEL8 (or RHEL 8) postgis package is one of the last remaining obstacles for a smooth transition from EL7 to EL8. I have been able to rebuild the postgis-3.1.3-1.fc34.src.rpm pretty much out-of-the-box (with disabling SFCGAL (similar to the armv7hl arch), because SFCGAL is not (yet?) available in EPEL and without the llvmjit subpackage (I've not had a look into this)). So from a dependency point of view, building an EL8 postgis RPM should be possible. Is there anything I can hep with to get this realized? Sorry this fell off my radar. Are you a packager? Are you interested in maintaining postgis for EPEL? I don't use EPEL myself so I'd prefer not to blindly maintain the package. I'll do that. Already maintaining upstream packaging. Great, I'm glad to read this. I'd like to kindly ask whether there is progress on this? (Otherwise I'd need to build postgis myself ...) (In reply to Andreas Luik from comment #5) > I'd like to kindly ask whether there is progress on this? (Otherwise I'd > need to build postgis myself ...) WIP. If you are in a hurry, feel free to use https://yum.postgresql.org Regards, Devrim |
