Newer wine releases require the vkd3d library. The vkd3d library depends on having recent versions of vulkan and spirv packages, which RHEL 8 doesn't carry. Not sure what to do right now. This is on hold. What is the specific minimum versions needed? The RHEL8 vulkan/spirv packages are regularly rebased and appear to be at a recent versions. spirv-tools-2021.3-1.20210825.git1fbed83.el8 vulkan-headers-1.2.189.0-1.el8 vulkan-loader-1.2.189.0-1.el8 vulkan-tools-1.2.189.0-1.el8 vulkan-validation-layers-1.2.189.0-2.el8 Assuming it's possible, it's also important to follow the EPEL Updates Policy [0]. How compatible is such an upgrade? If there are soname bumps or breaking config changes, the incompatible upgrades policy [1] will need to be followed. It looks like this guy can finally be upgraded in EPEL. I'll try. Yes, it can be upgraded. The vkd3d library is now built, which will allow wine 6.0 to be built. An 6.0.2 update will be pushed soon.
