Description Sandro Mani 2021-08-09 09:52:34 UTC
This bug is part of the non-responsive maintainer procedure for corsepiu, following https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Policy_for_nonresponsive_package_maintainers/.

Please respond if you are still active in Fedora and want to maintain OpenSceneGraph.

See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1988737

Comment 1 Ralf Corsepius 2021-08-09 16:38:06 UTC
I am still active and I do maintain OpenSceneGraph. I will update the package when I get around to it and when I think its ready.

I will certainly not update a package just because some arbitrary person filed a request 1 week ago and tries to push other persons around.

That said, Sandro, I consider, what you are doing here, to be an unfriendly and hostile act.

Sandro, change your attitude! I consider the attitude you are communicating to be inacceptable. I am expecting an excuse from you!

Comment 2 Sandro Mani 2021-08-09 21:18:38 UTC
I have absolutely nothing to excuse myself about, I have followed official policy. You have ignored repeated requests to update the package over the past 4 years and, even when reaching out to you personally, gave vague replies as to why an update was not possible, and when offering help with the COPR versions I maintain, rudely criticized the quality of those packages without even replying when I asked to kindly point out what is wrong about them. If you maintain OSG for your own personal needs, maintain it in a personal repo, instead of blocking it for all Fedora users. I'm sick of having to maintain an up to date version in COPR and having do deal with all the associated hassels.

Please provide a proper and meaningful reply as to why it cannot be updated.

Comment 3 Ben Cotton 2021-08-10 13:46:53 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 35 development cycle.
Changing version to 35.

Comment 4 Sandro Mani 2021-10-27 07:43:13 UTC
Sigh I really really am tired of having to go through all the broken dependencies every time geos/gdal/protobuf/whatever is updated, having to wait until the side tags are merged and propagate to the repos so that I can submit the rebuilds in COPR. Please, update the package or give a reasonable explanation what technical issues are holding you back and let people help with those.

This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.
