Description Jilju Joy 2021-08-17 13:12:30 UTC
Created attachment 1814816 [details]
ocs-operator is not hidden in Installed Operators

Description of problem (please be detailed as possible and provide log
snippests):
odf-operator 4.9 will install ocs-operator 4.9 as its dependency. But ocs-operator is not hidden from "Installed Operators" list in UI. Creation of storage cluster directly from ocs-operator is also not disabled.

Screenshot attached.

Version of all relevant components (if applicable):
ocs-operator.v4.9.0-67.ci
odf-operator.v4.9.0-67.ci

Does this issue impact your ability to continue to work with the product
(please explain in detail what is the user impact)?
User is not blocked from creating storage cluster directly form ocs-operator.

Is there any workaround available to the best of your knowledge?
No

Rate from 1 - 5 the complexity of the scenario you performed that caused this
bug (1 - very simple, 5 - very complex)?
1

Can this issue reproducible?
Yes

Can this issue reproduce from the UI?
Yes

If this is a regression, please provide more details to justify this:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install odf-operator 4.9
2. In UI, go to "Operators" --> "Installed Operators"
3. Verify ocs-operator 4.9 is not present in the list.

Actual results:
ocs-operator 4.9 is present in "Installed Operators" and creation of storage cluster using ocs-operator is also enabled.

Expected results:
Storage cluster should not be created directly from ocs-operator. So ocs-operator should not be visible in "Installed Operators" list.

This just hasn't been done yet. PR is up: https://github.com/openshift/ocs-operator/pull/1307

Comment 6 Mudit Agarwal 2021-09-08 06:28:02 UTC
Please test with the latest build.

Comment 7 Mugdha Soni 2021-09-15 13:36:57 UTC
Validated the fix with ODF cluster version 4.9.0-139.ci and following steps were performed :-

1. Install odf-operator 4.9
2. In UI, go to "Operators" --> "Installed Operators"
3. Verify ocs-operator 4.9 is not present in the list.

The OCS operator was not present in the list of installed operators , hence satisfying the expected result .
The screenshot for the same is attached in the next comment .

Based on comment#7 and comment#8 moving the bug to verified state .

Thank you
