Description Miroslav Rezanina 2021-08-30 05:49:33 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1998940 +++

After we rebase to QEMU 6.1 we need to ensure old machine types stays compatible with previous version.

Check the changes and prepare fix for keeping machine types compatible.

Comment 1 Thomas Huth 2021-09-28 07:59:09 UTC
FWIW, looks like there is not much to do for s390x here: hw_compat_6_0 only contains entries that are not related to s390x, so this should not affect the s390x machine type.

Comment 3 smitterl 2021-10-05 11:14:59 UTC
Setting ITM 11, to get this into CTC1.

Comment 5 smitterl 2021-10-05 16:18:21 UTC
Expected scope: live migration forth and back
Source: 9B
Destination: 9.0 (w/ qemu 6.1)
Guest machine type s390-ccw-virtio-rhel8.5.0

Comment 8 bfu 2021-11-04 16:11:48 UTC
Verified forth and back migration works with:

Source host
qemu-kvm-6.0.0-13.el9_b.5.s390x

Destination host
qemu-kvm-6.1.0-6.el9.s390x

Guest
s390-virtio
5.14.0-1.7.1.el9.s390x

Auto test case
