Description Neal Gompa 2021-08-30 16:55:47 UTC
Description of problem:
pipewire depends on pipewire-media-session, but doesn't state it prefers wireplumber, leading it to install the wrong thing anyway.

Add "Suggests: wireplumber" to fix this.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
0.3.34-1.fc35

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install pipewire-pulseaudio
2.
3.

Actual results:
It pulls in pipewire-media-session instead of wireplumber

Expected results:
It pulls in wireplumber instead of pipewire-media-session

Comment 1 Fedora Blocker Bugs Application 2021-08-30 16:57:42 UTC
Proposed as a Blocker for 35-beta by Fedora user ngompa using the blocker tracking app because:

This prevents the completion of the implementation of the WirePlumber Change, which prevents successful usage of expected audio use cases by the expected stack configuration.

FEDORA-2021-b87a167119 has been submitted as an update to Fedora 35. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2021-b87a167119

Comment 4 Adam Williamson 2021-08-30 18:38:02 UTC
Neal filed this because he didn't realize there's already a blocker the update fixes. Technically there's nothing wrong with this report, but we don't really need it, so I'm just going to close it.
