Description John Pittman 2021-09-03 15:48:19 UTC
Description of problem:

When a system has very large snapshots or a very high number of snapshots, system performance and memory usage can suffer.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

kernel-4.18.0-305.12.1.el8_4
lvm2-2.03.11-5.el8
lvm2-libs-2.03.11-5.el8
device-mapper-1.02.175-5.el8
device-mapper-libs-1.02.175-5.el8

Expected results:

When the number of snapshots gets too high or they are very large, a warning and confirmation should be displayed. This will keep end users from being surprised when system is impacted.
