This bug has been verified on OCP 4.8.0-0.nightly-2021-09-06-042819 and passed, thanks. Steps: 1, Configure only 1 BYOH Windows node in cluster and create Windows workload on it 2, Delete config map, check above panic should not exist, the Windows workload is evicted and BYOH windows node de-configured. # oc logs -f deployment.apps/windows-machine-config-operator -n openshift-windows-machine-config-operator ... 2021-09-08T10:04:36.525Z INFO controllers.configmap processing {"instances in": "windows-instances"} 2021-09-08T10:04:36.526Z DEBUG wc 10.0.48.121 initializing SSH connection 2021-09-08T10:04:46.678Z DEBUG nc 10.0.48.121 evicting pod openshift-windows-machine-config-operator/win-webserver-549cd7495d-q5762 2021-09-08T10:04:46.733Z INFO wc 10.0.48.121 deconfiguring Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
