Hello,

Please note that this comment was generated automatically. If you feel that this output has mistakes, please contact me via email (mhroncok).

Your package (qatzip) Fails To Install in Fedora 36:

can't install qatzip:
  - nothing provides libqat.so.0()(64bit) needed by qatzip-1.0.5-1.fc35.x86_64

can't install qatzip-libs:
  - nothing provides libqat.so.0()(64bit) needed by qatzip-libs-1.0.5-1.fc35.x86_64

If you know about this problem and are planning on fixing it, please acknowledge so by setting the bug status to ASSIGNED. If you don't have time to maintain this package, consider orphaning it, so maintainers of dependent packages realize the problem.

If you don't react accordingly to the policy for FTBFS/FTI bugs (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/), your package may be orphaned in 8+ weeks.

P.S. The data was generated solely from koji buildroot, so it might be newer than the latest compose or the content on mirrors.

P.P.S. If this bug has been reported in the middle of upgrading multiple dependent packages, please consider using side tags: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/#updating-inter-dependent-packages

Thanks!

Comment 1 Ben Beasley 2021-09-08 23:14:50 UTC
This is the result of an unannounced soname change in qatlib (https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2021-255cb16d32, https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/qatlib/c/df3c4f7cebc2aee94219bf8b93d7c6b421fedaae?branch=rawhide).

In the future, the maintainers of qatlib should follow https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/#_rawhide: announce incompatible updates a week in advance on the devel list, and use a side tag to coordinate rebuilds of dependent packages such as this one.

Bumping the release number of qatzip (manually or with rpmdev-bumpspec from rpmdevtools) and rebuilding it in Rawhide should resolve this bug.

Thanks Ben!

I'll update this repo ASAP.

Zheng

Comment 3 Giovanni Cabiddu 2021-09-09 07:55:08 UTC
My bad, apologies. I will follow https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Updates_Policy/#_rawhide when there will be another incompatible update.

Comment 4 zm627 2021-09-12 05:26:54 UTC
Thank you Ben and Giovanni for your help!

The rebuild with build link: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=75531164 is successfully complete to rawhide.

Shall we close the ticket now?

Thanks!
Zheng

Comment 5 Ben Beasley 2021-09-12 13:16:13 UTC
Yes, the bug should now be CLOSED with a resolution of RAWHIDE. I went ahead and closed it myself. Thanks for taking care of the rebuild!
