Description Neal Gompa 2021-09-16 07:38:31 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #2002441 +++

mutter-devel is missing a "runtime" dependency / Requires on mesa-libEGL-devel.

For example, the header file "/usr/include/mutter-9/cogl/cogl/cogl-egl-defines.h" includes "#include <EGL/eglmesaext.h>", which is part of the mesa-libEGL-devel package, but it's not pulled in as a dependency of mutter-devel.

This hard dependency is missing in the mutter package in CentOS Stream/RHEL 9. This has the effect that even though this library is only a transitive dependency through mutter, packages that depend on mutter need to BuildRequire mesa-libEGL-devel directly. (For example: gala, elementary-greeter, wingpanel).

The reason this happens is because even though mutter-devel requires "pkgconfig(egl)", that is now provided by libglvnd-devel. Since the header in question is exclusively from Mesa, we need "Requires: mesa-libEGL-devel" added to the package.
