In 8.5 we're adding the ability to show a persistant message at the login screen ( see bug 1651378 ).

I need to put the same bits in RHEL 9, so we don't lose the functionality when going from 8.5 to 9.

So the c9s build succeeded: https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=14448
but the el9 build failed:  https://brewweb.engineering.redhat.com/brew/buildinfo?buildID=1745800

The error is :

 collect2: fatal error: cannot find ‘ld’

I'm going to try a rebuild in case it's a transient problem.
