Description Renaud Métrich 2021-09-28 07:46:16 UTC
Description of problem:

Upon upgrading to RHEL8, the netconsole chkconfig symlinks (/etc/rc.d/rcX.d/{S,K}50netconsole) become dangling symlinks to non-existent /etc/rc.d/init.d/netconsole script;

This happens because netconsole on RHEL8 is shipped as a systemd service and no cleanup is performed by RHEL7's initscripts package.

We have a KCS on this (https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6338621) but it would be better to automatize this cleanup.
