Of note the link https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHEA-2021:3832 is broken.

On another note, since this is a super common scenario I would hope an automated fix would be made to convert2rhel

I'm sorry that the advisory link does not work, we're working on fixing it.

The new convert2rhel version 0.24-2 (available already under https://cdn.redhat.com/content/public/convert2rhel/) allows an automated conversion of UEFI-based systems, however this new capability is available only when converting to RHEL 7 and 8, not to RHEL 6.
