Description Matthias 2021-10-06 14:17:02 UTC
Created attachment 1829903 [details]
Font size change that does not work

Description of problem:
Mark text in Writer or Impress (only tested in those two components)
1. using drop down menu to change font or font size doesn't work (see attached picture)
2. Font color and font background color can be changed once, but not a second time

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Version: 7.2.1.2
Build ID: 20(Build:2)
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.14; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+xcb)
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
Calc: threaded

How reproducible:
Always (two computers, different accounts with Fedora 35)

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Libreoffice
2. Mark some text
3. Try to change mentioned properties

Actual results:
The text does not change

Expected results:
It should change

Additional info:
I tried with the same LibreOffice version under Windows, there it works as expected

Marking text and using right mouse click -> Characters allows the user to change the properties

Try the gtk version. I suspect this is a kf5 variant only thing ? Possibly with popups in general.

You are right! It works under Gnome, but not under KDE.

Comment 3 Caolan McNamara 2021-10-07 08:00:02 UTC
if its the above problem, which I think it is, then 7.2.2 kf5 version will fix that

Comment 4 Matthias 2021-10-07 09:44:35 UTC
Hopefully. In the meantime users can put

export OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome

into the .bashrc in their home directory while running KDE. That solved the problem temporary.

Issue solved with new build. I don't see the problem any more with this version:

Version: 7.2.2.2
Build ID: 20(Build:2)
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 5.14; UI render: default; VCL: kf5 (cairo+wayland)
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
Calc: threaded
