Description Peter Rival 2021-10-07 19:41:12 UTC
A partner has suggested they are seeing indications they would like to tune automatically based on whether CXL-attached devices are present in the system. Currently this is focused on cxl.mem devices but could extend beyond in the future. The significant difference in latency and bandwidth of cxl.mem devices vs. "normal" DRAM mean some tunings might need to be changed. Theoretically this could also happen down the road on systems with some combination of HBM, DRAM, and cxl.mem, but that's another bz.
