Description Tom Deseyn 2021-10-21 15:14:21 UTC
.NET provides support for tracing using LTTng.

LTTng is meant for advanced tracing scenarios and Microsoft packages do not require it. .NET detects at runtime if it is available.

If our builds allow it, we should also drop the dependency from our packages.

Dropping it means we carry a little less weight.

It also avoid any potential issues caused by LTTNG with users that are not actually using it.

I have implemented this for .NET 8: https://pagure.io/dotnet-sig/dotnet8.0/c/2b3e6f96e721917d648277a39775e12a08349d0b?branch=main
