Description Ray Strode [halfline] 2006-08-09 14:45:57 UTC
Right now gnome-screensaver's smart card monitoring code polls several times a
second. This will needlessly use up battery on laptops, force speed stepped
CPUs to go up, etc.

Fixing this will require forking and then doing (blocking) event handling in a
subprocess.

See bug 205184 for the duplicate GDM report.

Comment 2 Ray Strode [halfline] 2006-09-14 06:43:32 UTC
should be fixed in the next build
