Description Andrei Iancu 2021-11-05 12:10:26 UTC
Description of problem:

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
wireplumber-0.4.4-3.fc35.x86_64

How reproducible:
When installing Spotify snap using snapd the sound output is being removed and bassically there is no way to play any sound in the system. Also the sound volume bar is removed from the top panel.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Clean install Fedora 35.
2. Install snapd using this guide: https://snapcraft.io/docs/installing-snap-on-fedora
3. Install Spotify snap package: snap install spotify

Actual results:
Spotify gets installed properly but there is no sound. Songs from spotify cannot be played.

Expected results:
Spotify gets installed properly and wireplumber keeps working allowing the user to play any sound.

Additional info:
As a workaround for this bug the wireplumber can be reinstalled: dnf reinstall wireplumber. After a reboot the sound is back and Spotify is able to play any song just as it should be.

Comment 1 Peter Hutterer 2021-11-11 06:27:45 UTC
This sounds like upstream issue https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/wireplumber/-/issues/93, though reinstalling shouldn't be necessary, just restarting wireplumber should be enough.

Comment 2 Andrei Iancu 2021-11-11 08:41:39 UTC
That helps but it doesn't restart itself after reboot, only manually.
