Description Steve Barnhart 2006-08-10 20:13:59 UTC
The recent incarnation of Fedora (new logo and accompanying graphics) have
seemed to turn the distribution further away from what Red Hat used to be and
the path they take toward RHEL in relation to the artwork. I personally did not
prefer the theme shipped with FC5 and the "bubbly" look. The graphics seem to be
going away from what the artwork team in RHEL and before Fedora took or even
Novell/SUSE take.

I actually liked Bluecurve except for the grey and "blah" buttons and such that
came with it but the use of blue and icons were very nice. Fedora just doesn't
seem to be taking the same path anymore and seemes to be going toward a more
"kiddish"and "bubbly" theme. I hope that the team could somehow look toward a
different default theme going more toward a "professional" look.

Art is subjective so I wouldn't call this a bug just a matter of taste (I loved
the bubbles as it made Fedora look more fun and aprochable). There is an active
Fedora Art comunity which decides on the direction to take the artwork (the new
icons in my view are a huge improvement over Bluecurve which had a cartoony
look). In any case the proper formum for this is the Fedora Art community not
bugzilla.
