Description Michal Privoznik 2021-11-10 13:01:23 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1678085 +++

'-numa node,cpus=' has some problems and will be deprecated by qemu in near future. And '-numa node,nodeid=xx' is recommended by qemu. So libvirt should implement to use '-numa node,nodeid=xx' for numa configuring.

+++

If libvirt is to use -preconfig it needs to be stabilized first. There was an attempt on the list:

https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2021-10/msg05638.html
https://lists.nongnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2021-11/msg00135.html

but the discussion got hairy and more complex solution was suggested.

Instead of continually kicking the can down the road, closing deferred as discussions / work continues upstream and it's unclear whether it would be completed by the aging deadline.
