Try launching system-config-display from a terminal window, and see if it prints a traceback when you click the OK button. When I click "Configure", it adds the following line of text in my terminal: in hydrate_second Beyond that, everything else happens exactly the same as described before. What hardware is this with? If it's an nvidia card then you're out of luck for the moment, the driver doesn't have dualhead support.
