File: dmesg
Created attachment 1842614 [details] dmesg_2 So, this WARNING: happens quite often on this machine (see also the potential duplicate bug 2020700 linked above), and minutes after reporting this particular WARNING from earlier this afternoon a new splat happend (a few minutes after a fresh boot), but abrt states "The backtrace does not contain enough meaningful function frames to be reported". I'm attaching the dmesg output anyway. Happened again with 5.15: WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 894002 at drivers/net/wireless/intel/iwlwifi/mvm/mac80211.c:2435 iwl_mvm_bss_info_changed+0x41e/0x6c0 [iwlmvm] Modules linked in: uinput rfcomm rpcsec_gss_krb5 auth_rpcgss nfsv4 dns_resolver nfs lockd grace fscache netfs snd_usb_audio snd_usbmidi_lib snd_rawmidi tun snd_seq_dummy snd_hrtimer xt_CHECKSUM xt_MASQUERADE xt_conntrack ipt_REJECT nf_nat_tftp nf_conntrack_tftp nft_objref nf_conntrack_netbios_ns nf_conntrack_broadcast nft_fib_inet nft_fib_ipv4 nft_fib_ipv6 nft_fib nft_reject_inet nf_reject_ipv4 nf_reject_ipv6 nft_reject nft_ct nft_chain_nat bridge stp llc ip6table_nat ip6table_mangle ip6table_raw ip6table_security iptable_nat nf_nat nf_conntrack nf_defrag_ipv6 nf_defrag_ipv4 iptable_mangle iptable_raw iptable_security ip_set nf_tables nfnetlink ip6table_filter ip6_tables iptable_filter bnep sunrpc vfat fat intel_rapl_msr mei_hdcp mei_wdt ee1004 iTCO_wdt intel_pmc_bxt iTCO_vendor_support intel_rapl_common intel_tcc_cooling x86_pkg_temp_thermal intel_powerclamp coretemp kvm_intel kvm irqbypass rapl intel_cstate intel_uncore snd_soc_skl iwlmvm snd_soc_hdac_hda mac80211 snd_hda_ext_core snd_soc_sst_ipc joydev snd_soc_sst_dsp btusb btrtl btbcm libarc4 btintel snd_soc_acpi_intel_match snd_soc_acpi snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_soc_core uvcvideo videobuf2_vmalloc iwlwifi snd_ctl_led bluetooth snd_compress videobuf2_memops snd_hda_codec_realtek ac97_bus snd_hda_codec_generic snd_pcm_dmaengine videobuf2_v4l2 intel_wmi_thunderbolt pcspkr snd_hda_intel videobuf2_common snd_intel_dspcfg snd_intel_sdw_acpi videodev snd_hda_codec think_lmi wmi_bmof firmware_attributes_class mc cfg80211 ecdh_generic snd_hda_core snd_hwdep snd_seq snd_seq_device snd_pcm intel_xhci_usb_role_switch i2c_i801 snd_timer i2c_smbus mei_me mei intel_pch_thermal thinkpad_acpi ledtrig_audio platform_profile rfkill snd soundcore acpi_pad binfmt_misc zram ip_tables dm_crypt trusted asn1_encoder hid_logitech_hidpp i915 hid_logitech_dj i2c_algo_bit crct10dif_pclmul ttm crc32_pclmul crc32c_intel drm_kms_helper ghash_clmulni_intel cec drm uas e1000e nvme serio_raw nvme_core usb_storage ucsi_acpi typec_ucsi typec wmi video ipmi_devintf ipmi_msghandler fuse CPU: 0 PID: 894002 Comm: kworker/0:1 Not tainted 5.15.11-200.fc35.x86_64 #1 Hardware name: LENOVO 20HDCTO1WW/20HDCTO1WW, BIOS N1QET94W (1.69 ) 11/17/2021 Workqueue: events_freezable ieee80211_restart_work [mac80211] RIP: 0010:iwl_mvm_bss_info_changed+0x41e/0x6c0 [iwlmvm] Code: e0 36 0f 83 e5 01 00 00 31 d2 48 89 ee 4c 89 f7 e8 e7 a9 01 00 31 d2 48 89 ee 4c 89 f7 e8 ca 84 02 00 85 c0 0f 84 78 fd ff ff <0f> 0b e9 71 fd ff ff 85 c0 0f 85 cc fe ff ff e9 a4 fc ff ff 48 89 RSP: 0000:ffffb0d04c6a7d80 EFLAGS: 00010282 RAX: 00000000fffffffb RBX: 00000000031674ff RCX: 0000000000000000 RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: ffffb0d04c6a7cd0 RDI: ffff950b43898028 RBP: ffff950b465bd708 R08: ffffb0d04c6a7d2c R09: ffff950b46d92028 R10: 000000000000002c R11: ffffffff9df46028 R12: ffff950b465bd710 R13: ffff950b46d92020 R14: ffff950b46d92028 R15: ffff950b46d92058 FS: 0000000000000000(0000) GS:ffff95127e400000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 00007f0d7b721000 CR3: 0000000188aa6006 CR4: 00000000003706f0 Call Trace: <TASK> drv_bss_info_changed+0x8f/0x160 [mac80211] ieee80211_reconfig+0xac5/0x12d0 [mac80211] ? finish_wait+0x80/0x80 ieee80211_restart_work+0xfc/0x150 [mac80211] process_one_work+0x1f1/0x390 worker_thread+0x53/0x3e0 ? process_one_work+0x390/0x390 kthread+0x127/0x150 ? set_kthread_struct+0x40/0x40 ret_from_fork+0x22/0x30 </TASK> After reporting the same to bug 1991752 in error (which was opened for a different network adapter), I noticed that I already reported it here, but missed that this NMI_INTERRUPT_UMAC_FATAL was already mentioned in the dmesg files attached here. dmesg
This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 35 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 35 on 2022-12-13. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a 'version' of '35'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version' to a later Fedora Linux version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora Linux 35 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version prior to this bug being closed. The last time this happened was in January 2022. Then the WiFi router was replaced and I have not seen this ever since. ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 609028 at drivers/net/wireless/intel/iwlwifi/mvm/mac80211.c:2435 iwl_mvm_bss_info_changed+0x41e/0x6c0 [iwlmvm] Modules linked in: rpcsec_gss_krb5 auth_rpcgss nfsv4 dns_resolver nfs lockd grace fscache netfs snd_usb_audio snd_usbmidi_lib snd_rawmidi tun ntfs3 rfcomm snd_seq_dummy s nd_hrtimer xt_CHECKSUM xt_MASQUERADE xt_conntrack ipt_REJECT nf_nat_tftp nf_conntrack_tftp nft_objref nf_conntrack_netbios_ns nf_conntrack_broadcast nft_fib_inet nft_fib_ipv4 nft_fib_ipv6 nft_fib nft_ reject_inet nf_reject_ipv4 nf_reject_ipv6 nft_reject nft_ct nft_chain_nat ip6table_nat ip6table_mangle ip6table_raw ip6table_security iptable_nat nf_nat nf_conntrack nf_defrag_ipv6 nf_defrag_ipv4 ipta ble_mangle iptable_raw iptable_security bridge stp llc ip_set nf_tables nfnetlink ip6table_filter ip6_tables iptable_filter bnep sunrpc vfat fat intel_rapl_msr ee1004 iTCO_wdt intel_pmc_bxt mei_wdt me i_hdcp iTCO_vendor_support intel_rapl_common snd_soc_skl snd_soc_hdac_hda snd_hda_ext_core snd_soc_sst_ipc intel_tcc_cooling x86_pkg_temp_thermal intel_powerclamp coretemp snd_soc_sst_dsp snd_soc_acpi _intel_match snd_soc_acpi kvm_intel snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_soc_core snd_ctl_led snd_hda_codec_realtek snd_hda_codec_generic snd_compress ac97_bus snd_pcm_dmaengine snd_hda_intel kvm i rqbypass snd_intel_dspcfg snd_intel_sdw_acpi rapl snd_hda_codec intel_cstate iwlmvm intel_uncore snd_hda_core snd_hwdep mac80211 snd_seq snd_seq_device uvcvideo snd_pcm btusb joydev libarc4 pcspkr thi nk_lmi iwlwifi btrtl btbcm firmware_attributes_class intel_wmi_thunderbolt videobuf2_vmalloc videobuf2_memops videobuf2_v4l2 wmi_bmof videobuf2_common btintel bluetooth i2c_i801 videodev snd_timer i2c _smbus cfg80211 mc ecdh_generic mei_me intel_xhci_usb_role_switch mei intel_pch_thermal thinkpad_acpi ledtrig_audio platform_profile rfkill snd soundcore acpi_pad binfmt_misc zram ip_tables dm_crypt t rusted asn1_encoder hid_logitech_hidpp hid_logitech_dj i915 i2c_algo_bit ttm drm_kms_helper nvme e1000e cec nvme_core crct10dif_pclmul crc32_pclmul crc32c_intel drm serio_raw ghash_clmulni_intel ucsi_ acpi typec_ucsi typec wmi video uas usb_storage ipmi_devintf ipmi_msghandler fuse CPU: 0 PID: 609028 Comm: kworker/0:0 Tainted: G W 5.15.12-200.fc35.x86_64 #1 Hardware name: LENOVO 20HDCTO1WW/20HDCTO1WW, BIOS N1QET94W (1.69 ) 11/17/2021 Workqueue: events_freezable ieee80211_restart_work [mac80211] RIP: 0010:iwl_mvm_bss_info_changed+0x41e/0x6c0 [iwlmvm] Code: e0 36 0f 83 e5 01 00 00 31 d2 48 89 ee 4c 89 f7 e8 27 a6 01 00 31 d2 48 89 ee 4c 89 f7 e8 4a 81 02 00 85 c0 0f 84 78 fd ff ff <0f> 0b e9 71 fd ff ff 85 c0 0f 85 cc fe ff ff e9 a4 fc ff ff 48 89 RSP: 0018:ffffb6c802c7bd80 EFLAGS: 00010282 RAX: 00000000fffffffb RBX: 00000000031674ff RCX: 0000000000000000 RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: ffffb6c802c7bcd0 RDI: ffff8dd8465f8028 RBP: ffff8dd9b4ff3708 R08: ffffb6c802c7bd2c R09: ffff8dd844eaa028 R10: 000000000000002c R11: ffffffffb5f46028 R12: ffff8dd9b4ff3710 R13: ffff8dd844eaa020 R14: ffff8dd844eaa028 R15: ffff8dd844eaa058 FS: 0000000000000000(0000) GS:ffff8ddf7e400000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 00007fb919f94000 CR3: 0000000146cba006 CR4: 00000000003706f0 Call Trace: <TASK> drv_bss_info_changed+0x8f/0x160 [mac80211] ieee80211_reconfig+0xac5/0x12d0 [mac80211] ? finish_wait+0x80/0x80 ieee80211_restart_work+0xfc/0x150 [mac80211] process_one_work+0x1f1/0x390 worker_thread+0x53/0x3e0 ? process_one_work+0x390/0x390 kthread+0x127/0x150 ? set_kthread_struct+0x40/0x40 ret_from_fork+0x22/0x30 </TASK> ---[ end trace 7b637869b8a5e3f7 ]--- |
