Description of problem:

When I click on the menu, sometimes it pauses for 5-15 seconds doing
'something'; this isn't really new.

However, now, when it does this, it seems to be stuck in a server grab - 
I can't switch windows or type.

How reproducible:

Fairly often.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open menu

you have to take a pointer grab when displaying a menu otherwise you can't get
the "click anywhere outside the menu to make it go away" behavior.

does it pause after showing the menu but before showing the icons, or pause
before showing the menu?

If the latter, its conceivable that we could do the grab later.

It pauses before showing the menus. I'm assuming it's rescanning desktop files
and/or icons.

Based on the date this bug was created, it appears to have been reported
against rawhide during the development of a Fedora release that is no
longer maintained. In order to refocus our efforts as a project we are
