It's already present in Fedora:
$ rpm -q fence-agents-pve
fence-agents-pve-4.11.0-1.fc35.noarch

Moving bz to EPEL.

EPEL packages are supported by volunteers, just like Fedora's. Thus throwing it over the fence to distribution" doesn't do anything.
distribution is for global things like "The mirrors aren't working" or "This documentation is wrong"

That being said, let's look at where this should go.

fence-agents-pve is a sub-package of fence-agents.
fence-agents is part of RHEL, and thus cannot be part of EPEL.
But if we look at the RHEL 9 spec files it has a comment "# skipped: pve, raritan, rcd-serial, virsh"
It looks like they took the Fedora spec file and chopped out the sections for those 4 components.

So, it looks like someone would need to create a fence-agents-extras package for EPEL that contains at least pve, and possibly the other 3 missing components.

That someone isn't me. Sorry. I'm already stretched a little thin on the amount of packages I maintain in EPEL.
If you don't want to do it, then I suggest sending an email to the epel-devel mailling list to see if there is anyone who is willing to make and support that package for you.

Comment 3 atalaran 2022-06-09 21:32:54 UTC
can this be added to epel9 now that it is released please? looks to still be missing and may just be uncommenting some lines from the specfile.

This bug is only getting one set of eyes looking at it, mine. And as I said above, I don't have the fence expertise, or the time to take on this task.

Please send and email to epel-devel.org
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/admin/lists/epel-devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/

You can put what I said in Comment #2 in the email.

i submitted a stripped down spec file to epel but no responses on it yet. is there a better way for review or maybe including it there?
from what i saw it would be just adding it to the all list right? its already in the spec and it built fine for me. seems fedora has all the things too but i didnt see how the spec was different.

Comment 6 Troy Dawson 2022-09-23 13:40:53 UTC
This has been done for epel9.
Is it still needed for epel8?

Comment 7 atalaran 2022-09-28 11:25:49 UTC
this was made before 9 came out so just 9 is fine for me.
carl recommended it be named as fence-agents-epel but i see each individually. doesnt matter to me really so feel free to close if this is how you all want it to be instead.
