Description of problem:
A customer is asking to get a new version of rear for RHEL 7.9 with https://github.com/rear/rear/pull/2544 included.

The customer wants to use Rear with RHEl 7.9 and run into issues that they also saw in RHEl 8.x . RHEL 8 has the patch already included. Therefor we would need that issue fixed.
