Backport builds fine locally.

Reproduced crash with gtk3-3.22.30-8.el8.x86_64 and clearlooks-phenix-gtk3-theme-7.0.1-9.fc33.noarch.
Can not reproduce with gtk3-3.22.30-9.el8.x86_64
