Description Shimon Shtein 2021-12-23 09:26:49 UTC
Description of problem:

Tag values are limited to 255 chars in the inventory, so values longer than this need to be truncated

How reproducible:

Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a host parameter with super long text
2. Make sure exclude_parameters setting is turned off
3. Generate an rh_cloud report
4. Observe the tag generated from the parameter

Actual results:

Super long tag value

Expected results:

The value is truncated to 255 chars

Verified.

Tested on: Satellite-7.0.0 Snap 12.0

Steps followed:

1. Create a host parameter with super long text
2. Make sure the include_parameter_tags setting is turned on.
3. Generate a rh_cloud report
4. Observe the tag generated from the parameter

Observation: As the value exceeds 250 characters "Original value exceeds 250 characters" value/msg appears in the report for the added parameter.
